Working for the Department of Pediatrics
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta is one of Canada’s leading academic health centres for pediatric specialty and subspecialty education and research. We also work in conjunction with the Stollery Children’s Hospital to provide leading edge clinical care. Members of the department are dedicated to improving child health.
Position
This position is part of the Edmonton Pediatric IBD Clinic team and will work independently with minimal supervision on a variety of studies. The Research Assistant will develop study-specific source documents, screen and recruit potential study participants, obtain patient consents and assents and ensure source documents are received and reviewed. In addition to organizing and preparing charts and managing study databases, the position will be responsible for coordinating visits between multiple services, performing study-specific assessments, and participating in study related meetings. Data entry and entering of study information into the ARISE system, including amendments and annual renewals will be required. The position will also support students and supervise research assistants working within the research team and facilitate the close-out of projects. The Research Assistant will provide both study and administrative support to the research team.

Participate directly in research projects (70%)
Undertake tasks to support productivity across the research team (30%)
