Within the Behavioural Science Division, the Centre for Behavioural Research in Cancer (CBRC) conducts applied behavioural research to inform the development and implementation of effective cancer prevention policies, programs and services. CBRC also leads the evaluation of priority cancer prevention and screening programs and services housed within Cancer Council Victoria, including Quit,SunSmart and LiveLighter.

About your opportunity

We are seeking a Research Assistant to join CBRC. Reporting to the Senior Research Officer, this role will assist the development, implementation and reporting of cancer prevention research and evaluation studies being undertaken by CBRC. You will:

  • Assist with protocol and questionnaire development, data collection and validation
  • Contribute to statistical analyses, report writing, reference library management and journal publications
  • Conduct literature reviews

All about you

We are looking for someone with:

  • A tertiary qualification in psychology, health promotion, public health or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in a research role providing fieldwork support, data management and/or data analysis support
  • An understanding of major behaviour change theories and research methods relevant to studying behaviour change
  • Good working knowledge of SPSS or Stata and the ability to conduct data analysis
  • Effective time management skills and well developed written and interpersonal skills
