The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is a world-leading centre for research and postgraduate education in public and global health. Applications are invited for a Research Assistant to work on the Positive Choices trial evaluating a whole-school sexual health intervention in secondary schools in England.

The role requires an undergraduate degree in a relevant topic and experience in working in health, education or social science research. Some experience working in schools or with children, and some understanding of school health interventions and/or evaluation methods is desirable. Further particulars are included in the job description. 

The post is part time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and fixed term until 31 March 2025. The post is funded by the National Institute for Health Research Positive Choices trial and is available from 1 July 2024.   

The salary will be on the Academic Pathway salary scale at Grade 5 (in the range £38,282 – £43,947 per annum, inclusive of London weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year. In addition to this, there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
