The Institute of Advanced Automotive Propulsion Systems (IAAPS) at the University of Bath is recruiting a Research Assistant or Associate to support research work for a collaborative project.
This is a great opportunity for a Power Electronic Engineer to work in UK’s leading powertrain research group. The project is being conducted in collaboration with a well-known aviation industry partner for their next generation all electrified aircraft. You will be involved in the work package of a novel power electronics converter design for energy storage system, focussing on research, simulation, hardware design and embedded control of high-power density DCDC converter. The successful candidate will be expected to assist in the delivery of the project work packages, undertaking the research activity under the guidance of the principal investigator.
This position is full time (36.5 hours per week) and is being offered on a fixed term contract basis until February 2025. In your application, please include a full CV, including qualifications, publications list and conference presentation where applicable.

This role will be based at the University of Bath and involves working alongside the IAAPS Research Team. IAAPS is a leading centre for theoretical, experimental and analytical research into powertrain systems in the UK. IAAPS has an excellent track record in delivering industry-relevant projects, and has long established collaborations with industrial partners. The Centre considers its remit to be all of the links in the chain from energy storage to its conversion into mechanical work on board a vehicle.
