Invasive species pose a significant threat to agriculture and biodiversity. A grant funded by USGS awarded to the Dassanayake Lab aims to investigate the genomic basis for invasive traits in aquatic and terrestrial invasive plants. The candidate will develop innovative biotechnology methods to control invasive plant species using genome editing and computational methods.

Expected experiences in:

  • Molecular biology methods
  • Plant growth methods
  • Bioinformatics skills to analyze genomic data

Elegibility:

PhD or MS in genetics, biology, computational biology or related field
