We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic organic chemist for a Research Associate/Fellow post in the research group of Professor Hon Wai Lam (https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/~pczhl), based in the GSK Carbon Neutral Laboratories for Sustainable Chemistry at the University of Nottingham.

This project is in the area of organic synthesis for advanced energetic materials and is funded by the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL). Areas of focus include the synthesis and nitration of strained caged compounds.

Candidates must:

• Hold a PhD (or be close to completion) in synthetic organic chemistry.

• Have a proven track record of excellence in synthetic chemistry. Experience in modern catalytic methods, natural product synthesis, or complex multistep synthesis is desirable.

• Have excellent organisational, communication, and team working skills.

Recruitment to this post is subject to DSTL security clearances.

This post is available on a fixed term contract for 24 months. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours).
