Overview

CIFOR-ICRAF is a leading research organization dedicated to understanding how forests and trees contribute to people’s diets, livelihoods, and well-being, while also safeguarding biodiversity and ecosystem services. We are seeking a highly skilled Research Consultant in Food and Nutrition to join our team. This role will be pivotal in advancing our research efforts through in-depth quantitative analysis, collaborative projects, and contributing to high-impact publications. Duties and responsibilities

The objective of
this assignment is to analyze food and nutrition quantitative datasets from multiple
projects to produce detailed reports with data visualizations, tables, and
figures. Additionally, the consultant will draft methodology and results
sections for research publications of the analysis for submission to
peer-reviewed journals. The consultant will also provide critical feedback and
recommendations to enhance the scientific rigor and clarity of ongoing research
projects.

Quantitative Analysis: analyse
datasets from multiple projects using statistical software (ideally Stata) to
produce detailed reports with visualizations, tables, and figures.

Draft Research Publications: develop drafts of research publications for multiple projects,
focusing primarily on the method and result sections, with probable additions
of other sections when needed, ensuring they meet scientific publication
standards.

Critical Input and Support for Research Projects: provide constructive feedback and
recommendations on ongoing research projects to improve their quality and
alignment with CIFOR-ICRAF’s objectives.

Education, knowledge and experience

• MSc in Food Science or Nutrition.
• At least two years of experience post-master’s degree and a total of five years of experience in research, technical, or development role

, with a focus on quantitative research and scientific publication.
• Proficiency in using Stata or similar statistical software for data analysis; experience of using Nutri survey in nutrition data analysis; strong computer literacy; and experience in drafting and publishing scientific articles. GIS skills a plus.
• Deep understanding of food and nutrition issues in Indonesia and globally, with experience working in interdisciplinary and multicultural environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Bahasa Indonesia, with a proven ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
