The Department of Environmental Health at the Boston University School of Public Health (BUSPH) has a long history and national reputation of interdisciplinary research to address the health effects of environmental exposures. We are currently seeking candidates to fill a Research Data Analyst position. This candidate will work with a robust team of research assistants, project managers, research scientists and faculty working on multiple environmental health projects. We are seeking candidates with experience and training in statistical software such as R and experience with environmental health topics, biostatistical analyses, data visualization, and data presentation. 

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Under supervision, conduct modeling and analysis using new data;
  • Develop data visualization products, including figures and tables;
  • Contribute to writing of papers intended for submission for the peer-reviewed literature;
  • Report and present findings to outside stakeholders, including funders, policymakers, and other stakeholders. 

Employment type: Full time, 12 months, with possibility to extend

  • Masters Degree in biostatistics, epidemiology, environmental health, public health, environmental science, geography, physics, or related field with one-year experience
  • Experience with data science using statistical programming software (R, SAS, etc)
  • Familiarity with geospatial information systems (R, ArcGIS, QGIS)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and writing skills
