Position Summary
United Way of Central Indiana recognizes that the key to success

achieve our mission. The Research & Data Operations specialist
is a member of the Strategic Intelligence & Information (SII)
division which is responsible for executing on multiple data and
analytics research projects that assess the overall impact of our
organization in its grantmaking, community assessment, and
fundraising strategies.
The scope of this position will focus on supporting three
research teams (strategic research, community research, and
fundraising research) on project management, data support, and
communication support. The specialist will also work closely with
the Strategic Research and Analytics Senior Director on projects to
support the organization on communication of our data projects and
data communication plan to communicate the data-driven impact
widely with internal and external audiences.
Position Duties & Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Strategic Research and Analytics
Senior Director in the Strategic Intelligence & Information
Division, the Research & Data Operations Specialist will
implement a variety of projects that support the Impact, Community,
and Fundraising data strategies in partnership with the entire SII
team. Specific duties include:
- Leading the strategic development and execution of the
Strategic Intelligence and Information team’s operational
processes, procedures, and practices. - Leading the project management and tracking of project
deliverables in Smartsheet’s. - Assisting the Impact, Community, and Fundraising data teams on
research, data organization, minor data manipulation, and data prep
for analytical projects. - Management of the Data Insights & Storytelling Hub
(DISH). - Implementation, execution, and optimization of the SharePoint
site for the department, ensuring clear communication throughout
the entire organization. - Providing operational support in the documentation of Standard
Operating Procedures (SOPS), and project organizations in MS Teams
to support the historical documentation of projects for future
records. - Stay abreast of key issues, evidence-based best practices, and
research to inform and shape current and future investments,
initiatives, and programs that support outcomes for individuals and
households throughout Central Indiana. - Serve as a liaison to community partners by providing
information, resources and technical assistance. - Performs special assignments and other work, on an as-needed
basis.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree or 2-4 years’ experience in relevant field. *
Previous experience with project management and project management
software such as Smartsheet’s, is a plus. Microsoft Excel,
Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint are required.
Project and/or program management experience with a demonstrated
ability to develop, implement and execute to achieve intended
results, by following through on commitments, prioritizing work,
and managing time and resources well required.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a
strong reputation for integrity and professionalism, ability to
resolve conflict constructively, strong performance management and
evaluation capabilities including the willingness and ability to
ensure accountability, ability to build strong relationship both
inside and outside UWCI, commitment to fostering an inclusive
environment consistent with UWCI’s commitment to diversity and
