We are seeking a talented and creative postdoctoral researcher to work on an interdisciplinary project at the intersection of mathematics, data science and biology. The project will use mathematical and empirical work to understand the role of higher-order interactions between three or more individuals on the dynamics of collective behaviour and the evolution of traits in groups.

The successful candidate will join the group of Dr Francisco Perez-Reche at the Institute for Complex Systems and Mathematical biology (School of Natural and Computing Sciences) and work in close collaboration with the groups of Dr David Fisher (School of Biological Sciences) and Dr Jean-Baptiste Gramain (School of Natural and Computing Sciences).

This is an ideal position for a researcher with a solid knowledge of mathematical techniques for analysing and modelling complex systems. A willingness to do interdisciplinary research at the interface with biology is essential while an interest in working with insects is desirable. The successful candidate will benefit from a markedly interdisciplinary environment with opportunities to discuss with researchers from a wide range of disciplines and participate in our Interdisciplinary Seminar and the Aberdeen Computational Biology Forum.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 6, £37,099 – £39,347 per annum with placement according to qualifications and experience.
