Antibody and Vaccine Group, Centre for Cancer Immunology, School of Cancer Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, University of Southampton

The Antibody and Vaccine Group has a strong track-record in basic and translational immunology relating to the development of therapeutic antibodies for the treatment of cancer. Immunostimulatory antibodies (ISA) are a distinct class of antibodies that target activating immune receptors and function by mimicking the natural ligands. The current opportunity is for a research fellow to work on an exciting project developing ISA with the potential to alter the tumour microenvironment and enhance anti-tumour immunity. The post-holder will have an interest in cancer immunotherapy as well as the cell biology of the tumour microenvironment.

You will be motivated, educated to PhD* level in a relevant subject area and ideally have practical laboratory experience of immunofluorescence microscopy, multiparametric flow cytometry, molecular biology and pre-clinical models of cancer.

Informal enquiries to Professor Aymen Al-Shamkhani ([email protected] ) are welcome.

Applications will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification.  The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon completion of PhD.  Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.
