The Opportunity

Embark on a transformative journey as a Research Fellow in the CONSEP project, a cluster-randomized trial testing electronic clinical decision support software for primary aldosteronism screening in hypertension patients. Join us at the forefront of healthcare innovation, contributing to the early detection of Primary Aldosteronism through the aldosterone to renin ratio (ARR) blood test. Your pivotal role ensures optimal, evidence-based care for Australians living with PA, addressing a critical 10% of hypertension cases with heightened cardiovascular risks.

The Research Fellow will drive CONSEP’s success in general practices across Victoria. Responsibilities span clinic recruitment, engaging General Practitioners, overseeing intervention delivery and managing comprehensive data collection. You will collaborate with the Project Manager, bridging Monash University with the Hudson Institute, liaise with the site principal investigator and local practices. This dynamic role includes contributing to publications and external grants, showcasing your expertise. Lead the charge in promoting health equity by spearheading a ground-breaking initiative set to revolutionize hypertension care nationwide.

We are seeking an applicant with a doctoral qualification or equivalent with strong interpersonal skills, familiarity with the primary care setting, expertise in data analysis and manuscript preparation. You will also showcase your leadership through supervising and mentoring research-support staff, guiding junior members and contributing to interdisciplinary research. If you’re passionate about making a difference, possess a robust interdisciplinary research background and thrive independently or in team environments, seize this opportunity to contribute to reshaping hypertension care in Australia and we look forward to receiving your application.
