Applicants with a background in intensive care are invited to apply for this exciting opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary team on a project related to reducing the carbon footprint of intensive care units.  The project is a collaboration between the University of Brighton, Intensive Care Society, Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine and UK Critical Care Nursing Alliance.

To be successful in the post, you should have:

  • A degree in a healthcare discipline.
  • Sufficient, up to date breadth or depth of specialist knowledge in intensive care and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes and evidence of commitment to engage in continuous professional development.
  • Registration with a UK healthcare professional, statutory and regulatory body.
  • Previous clinical experience working in an intensive care unit.
  • Competent IT skills (Microsoft packages: Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook).

You will play a central role in the project, collecting data, analysing, and writing reports.  Knowledge about environmentally sustainable healthcare and carbon footprinting is desirable or a commitment to learning from the support provided.

This 1.0 FTE position is funded as a fixed-term post for 9 months.  We welcome applications from job sharers, and hybrid working is possible.

For an informal discussion, please contact Dr Heather Baid [email protected]

Interviews will be held week commencing 15th April.
