Research Fellow (Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute)

A Research Fellow position is currently available in the Nanyang Environment & Water Research Institute – Singapore Membrane Technology Center (NEWRI – SMTC).

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct membrane related projects for desalination, water reuse, resource recovery and etc

• Mentor junior PhD students, master students, undergraduate students for their research projects

Job Requirements:

• PhD degree from a reputable university in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, chemistry and etc

• Excellent journal paper publication record

• Excellent proposal writing and report writing skill

• Oral presentation skill and multitasking skill

• Relevant research experience on membrane technology and separation technologies

• Relevant research experience and industrial experience in membrane process and system development, operation, and optimization will be preferred

• Relevant research experience in membrane and separation process modelling/simulation, machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and/or digital twin development will be preferred

• Relevant research experience in the fabrication/synthesis of RO/NF/FO/PRO/ion exchange membranes/organic solvent membranes and/or organic chemical synthesis will be preferred

• Self-motivated and able to work on your own and in a team

• Good collaborative spirit

• Good interpersonal skills

• Good communication and writing in English

• Strong responsibility
