An exciting opportunity has arisen within Award Services in Research & Innovation Services (RIS). We are hiring two Research Finance Administrators who are driven, detail-oriented individuals and passionate about delivering effective and efficient processes to support change and improve support for departments and academics.
Award Services , one of four teams within RIS, provides a range specialist advice to UCL’s externally funded research and innovation portfolio through the departments of: Research Support & Development (Pre-award); European Research and Innovation Office; Finance and Compliance (Post-Award). The service is delivered in partnership with academic and professional services colleagues across UCL, collaborating organisations, and funders.
About the role
We have a permanent and 6 month FTC post. The 6 month post is also open to UCL internal candidates as a secondment. Please state in your cover letter whether you’re interested in the permanent or FTC post or both.
The Research Finance Administrator role is responsible for a portfolio of academic departments and will lead in the management of the post award financial and administrative activities for their externally funded research and innovation projects.
The post holder will apply a detailed and expert knowledge and understanding of Funder and UCL’s policies, procedures and processes, delivering a consistent and visible support service to the academic community, Professional Services teams and Funders.
This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 20% on site.

About you
With previous financial administrative experience in a research and innovation environment, together with knowledge of the research funding landscape, you will have the ability to prioritise project workloads involving changing circumstances and conflicting priorities. Comfortable with rapid change, you are happy to be part of a close-knit team with shared objectives.
