  • HEO9 – Salary from $135,820 plus 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

The Research Infrastructure Partnerships Manager provides management and coordination within and between stakeholder groups in support of high-value partner relationships that leverage the University’s investment in Research Infrastructure and assist to achieve the research infrastructure strategy. The RI Partnerships Manager will establish and maintain strong relationships with strategic partners and other stakeholders within and outside the organisation. Leading high-profile projects, liaising with senior members of the University Executive, and delivering frameworks for commercial and institutional partnering, the RI Partnerships Manager maximises delivery of benefits for research at the University, mitigates risk and solves complex problems. Continuous improvement initiatives are also key to the success of this role.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • coordinate the ARC LIEF pre- and post-award grant process for Research Infrastructure Office-led bids, in partnership with colleagues in the Research Portfolio and Research Infrastructure Platforms teams
  • establish strong working relationships with key external stakeholder groups (commercial partners, LHDs, others) and internal stakeholders across the University to lead the delivery of key commercial partnerships
  • lead identification and generation of partnering opportunities
  • coordinate the development of effective and compliant commercial partnership frameworks and relationship management programs
  • oversee the establishment and stand-up of new initiatives through effective coordination of the implementation phase of new partnerships.

About you

  • academic graduate qualifications in Business, Administration, Commerce, or a related field and/or extensive relevant experience
  • demonstrated ability as a strategic thinker with the capacity to analyse and grasp key concepts and issues quickly and translate strategy into practical applications and solutions
  • negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to deploy these skills at high levels and across complex and diverse internal and external partnership environments
  • excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
  • customer service centric with a ‘can do’ attitude and ability to demonstrate concern for meeting and exceeding the needs of stakeholders
  • demonstrated program management experience and delivery as well as skills in process mapping, function design and implementation
  • experience in a role with a commercial outcomes focus, in a large and complex organisation
  • knowledge and experience in the Australian higher education / research sector is highly desirable.
