The Health Economics and Financing research group is based at the Health Systems and Population Studies Division of icddr,b. The research group work to conduct quality research in the field of health economics and health financing to prioritize resource allocation within the health system and to remove financial barriers to healthcare for all, including the marginalized population.

Responsibilities: 

• The Research Investigator will report to the Associate Scientist and Lead of Research Group. The position holder will be responsible to plan, direct and conduct implementation of research activities with the objective of  collecting relevant research data for creating knowledge within the guidelines of the research protocol and organizational values and guidelines (such as Institutional Governance Framework – IGF and Gender Diversity Guidelines).S/he will be involved in:
• Generate new research ideas and develop research proposal/protocol and overall strategy to implement the research studies/projects;
• Coordinate quantitative surveys, and train data collectors;
• Oversee field activities; identify areas of improvement and provide necessary assistance as and when required by the team, oversee data processing, conduct data analyses;
• Prepare project reports and papers; Disseminate study findings;
• Coordinate collaborative projects.

Required qualification and experience:

• MBBS degree with Master of Public Health (MPH);
• At least 5 years experience in a relevant field with experience in conducting quantitative research. Preference will be given to those with experience in health economics research and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
