About the Role

We are seeking to recruit a Research Officer within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences who will provide high quality administrative support for research and innovation activities. Building on its standing as one of the UK’s leading research-intensive higher education institutions, Queen Mary University of London is committing significant investment to professional support for its research and innovation activities.

This role is part of the Professional Services Career Family at Queen Mary University of London that supports functions across multiple sites supporting our research, teaching, and learning activities. The role will be the first point of contact in your School(s) or Institute for providing administrative support on research matters. The support each post will provide will be agreed between the Faculty and School based administrative lead.

About You

The successful candidate will have had experience of working in a similar role within a Higher Education Institution or funding body, and will have strong analytical, organisational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrable ability to prioritise their workload is essential.

The Faculty has eight academic Schools across which 7,000 students are hosted and to which approximately 600 academic staff belong. The Research Officer role will provide research support within a team working across a cluster of three Schools.
