Housed within the School of Public Health, the mission of the Department of Health Policy and Management is to improve public health through better planning, design, management, and evaluation of the myriad organizations that provide health services. The core disciplines represented within the Department include health economics, human resource management, health policy, law, ethics, and organization studies applied to health care. Faculty are engaged in multidisciplinary research and scholarship addressing a range of problems relevant to health policy, health services delivery, outcome measurement, patient safety, leadership, and organization management relevant to healthcare organizations and systems.
Candidates with a Master’s Degree can have a minimum of 3 years’ experience. Equivalent education/experience may be substituted for degree requirement. Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree must also have at least 5 years of related work experience.
Basic proficiency with SQL and familiarity with SAS statistical software is required.
Familiarity with data collection methodologies including interviews, focus groups, and surveys using RedCap or Qualtrics is preferred.
Additional skills include Stata, SPSS, R, Python, and data visualization such as Microsoft PowerBI or Tableau are desirable.
Manages all aspects of one or more projects for a research program and oversees all aspects of the project lifecycle. Provides leadership, technical direction, coordination, and expertise across projects. Analyzes progress and/or performance and prepares reports. Ensures compliance with budget, scope, timeline, and regulations. Assists with external communications.
