Job Description Summary

The Research Project Manager will to take on the responsibility for day-to-day management of an NIH Project, manage a growing research team, and work with collaborators both internal and external to Penn. With mentoring from the investigators, the Project Manager will take a leadership role in developing study protocols, writing grants, managing the detailed operations of projects, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, cultivating close relationships with community partner organizations, and drafting/editing manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journal. Manage junior research team leaders and students joining on various other projects. Help develop the team’s research strategy and will have ample opportunities to lead projects and co-author papers. Ensure that studies/research are conducted safely and according to protocol, provide supervision to educators and teams conducting the study/interventions and collaborate with peers from other universities and funding agencies. Coordinate grant applications and interact with funding administrators and the school business office. Provide significant contributions to presentations and manuscripts, including multiple drafts for review and dissemination. Play a primary role in other dissemination activities related to project findings.

  • Manage the detailed operations/infrastructure of projects; collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data.

  • Manage and conduct participant interviews.

  • Manage studies, coordinate meetings, and provide follow up project reporting.

  • Provide participant payment and tracking.

  • Manage junior research team members.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in a related field and 5 to 7 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Clear communication and ability to multitask. Ability to work with junior team members, mentor, and support project development. Ability to run weekly study meetings and keep project on task. Perform independently in participant recruitment, enrollment, and study management. Ability to take notes and provide detailed study reporting on a weekly basis to PI team. Experience with prior research study launch, enrollment, data capture and management preferred.
