Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA) is looking to hire a full-time research scientist to work with the Criminal Justice @ SPIA initiative. The position entails close collaboration with the four faculty members of the initiative (Patrick Sharkey, Jonathan Mummolo, Laurence Ralph, Maria Sviatschi). This position involves a variety of high-level research tasks, including programming, data science tasks, literature review, grant preparation, and writing.
This is a one year term, benefits-eligible position.
Responsibilities:
- Data science: Tasks include programming, data collection, and data analysis to support multiple projects of the faculty in the Criminal Justice @ SPIA initiative, using tools such as R and Stata.
- Research and writing: Conduct literature reviews and contribute writing to reports and articles for faculty members.
- Grants: Assist with grant proposal preparation and submission. For grants that have been awarded, assist with preparing reports.
- Perform other research tasks and research coordination as needed
Essential Qualifications:
- PhD
- Programming in R and Stata
- Data analysis and methods of causal inference
- Skills in conducting literature reviews and academic writing
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with grant proposal preparation
