Clean Air Asia is an international non-governmental organization leading the regional mission for better air quality, and healthier, more livable cities throughout Asia. Our mission is to reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions in Asia and contribute to the development of a more sustainable, equitable and healthier region. We empower governments and cities by inspiring action and focusing efforts on the planning and implementation of solutions at scale, fostering regional cooperation to address issues of mutual concern, and ensuring the integration of air quality management across sectors and institutions. Our work focuses on implementing solutions that reduce air pollution, its detrimental health impacts and mitigate the climate crisis. We do so by providing policy guidance, building capacity, and making a compelling case for action among stakeholders at city, national, and regional levels. Since 2008, we have been a United Nations-recognized partnership comprised of more than 250 organizations in Asia and internationally, with six Country Networks (Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam). Our headquarters are in Manila, Philippines, and we have offices in Beijing, China, and New Delhi, India.
We are currently recruiting for Researcher on a project-based, intermittent, consultancy contract to join our dynamic team at Clean Air Asia in Manila, Philippines. We are looking for someone with strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
Job Purpose
The Researcher will be supporting the Component 4 Lead (Knowledge Management and Partnerships) mainly in enhancing knowledge-sharing initiatives and research projects. The researcher will play a key role in analyzing data, developing communication materials, and implementing knowledge management activities to support the organization’s objectives.

Responsibilities And Scope Of Work
In collaboration with the Component 4 Lead and other Clean Air Asia staff, the Researcher’s responsibilities include the following:
  • Support the Component 4 Lead in preparing monitoring reports for Component 4 activities, including providing progress reports on partnerships and knowledge management in the inception report, technical progress reports, final report, and other relevant documentation.
  • Collaborate with consortium partners to prepare concise documentation and website content
  • Collaborate with consortium partners and consultants to support the development of a central hub for all project activities and materials, subject to further discussions and final agreement on the most suitable format
  • Establish and maintain a stakeholder network mailing list, regularly updated to reflect the pilot sites and local stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain a database for effectively tracking gender indicators in alignment with the project’s results framework
  • Work with the communications team to produce branded materials for the project, including templates for letters, letterheads, PowerPoint presentations
  • Assist the communications team in the development of communication materials and knowledge products derived from the outcomes of other work packages, including articles, press releases, and others as required.
  • Assist in facilitating capacity building activities, including workshops, training sessions, and knowledge sharing events, to enhance stakeholders’ understanding and skills related to project objectives.
  • Assist in facilitating consultations with relevant stakeholders to capture outcomes, including considerations of gender, identifying capacity needs, and making adjustments to the capacity-building program and delivery approach as necessary.
  • Explore and develop additional insights on women involvement in the workforce.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Project Coordinator to report project achievements, challenges, and lessons learned, ensuring adherence to donor reporting requirements and formats.
  • In addition to the specified responsibilities outlined above, the Researcher may be required to perform other duties as assigned by the Component 4 Lead and Senior Project Coordinator. These duties may include providing ad-hoc support, participating in meetings or workshops, conducting additional research, or assisting with project-related tasks as needed.
  • The contract is on intermittent engagement, with a 4-day workweek reporting, following the regular work schedule of Clean Air Asia. The candidate may also be required to report to the UNIDO Country Office as needed.
Eligibility Requirements And Criteria
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (communications, environmental studies, social sciences, etc.). Advanced degrees or certifications are advantageous.
  • At least 3 years of experience in communications, preferably in a related field such as environmental advocacy, sustainable development, or social impact project
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Knowledge of communication and knowledge management principles and best practices.
  • Experience in data analysis, database management, and website development is preferred.
  • Familiarity with gender mainstreaming principles and experience in gender analysis is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment, and flexibility to adapt to changing project needs.
  • Experience in coordination with different stakeholders, preparing reports, presentations, and visualizations for client presentations and executive briefings.
Duration, Remuneration And Other Benefits

The selected candidate will be appointed from August 2024 to 30 June 2027 under a project-based intermittent consultancy contract, with an expectation to work a minimum of four days per week. The remuneration is competitive but may vary subject to the candidate’s professional qualifications and work experience.
