Are you a proactive researcher with a passion for innovative solutions that help consumers towards healthier and more sustainable lifestyles? We have a vacancy for a Researcher Consumer Behavior in a challenging research environment.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and enterprising researcher consumer behavior who will contribute to the research activities of the Food Consumer Behavior group. You will work at the Wageningen Food & Biobased Research (WFBR) research institute, part of Wageningen University & Research.

Your tasks and responsibilities include:

• together with a team, you conduct research into measuring and further analyzing (statistical methods) choice and eating behavior, (multi)sensory perception, consumer preferences, etc.;
• you contribute to project proposals, experimental designs and research reports in the field of consumer behavior;
• you study – in collaboration with other parties – solutions that are implemented in practice, and monitor the effects, for example lifestyle interventions aimed at lasting behavioral change;
• you have an active role in acquisition by translating knowledge into market propositions, writing research proposals and conducting discussions with customers.

Within WFBR we collaborate with other areas of expertise, including personalized nutrition, food technology, aroma and taste, alternative proteins and computer science. Moreover, WUR’s ecosystem, with the university, Wageningen Campus and our extensive knowledge and business network, offers many opportunities for collaboration for new developments and expansions of our research portfolio. This means that you have to be able to switch between many different people, projects and customers and act in different collaborations. We are therefore looking for a communicative and flexible person with team spirit!

Your qualities

• you have a PhD in behavioral research, experimental psychological research or a related specialization;
• interest in/experience with consumer preferences, eating and choice behavior, health and sustainability (food and non-food);
• affinity with innovative measurement methods that use new technologies. You also have a lot of experience with quantitative research and data analysis (various statistical analyses, data management);
• you work independently and proactively and have experience in setting up and carrying out various types of behavioral research;
• you have experience with project-based work, preferably within a Contract Research Organization (CRO) or an R&D department in the business community;
• you have an interest in and experience with writing project proposals.

We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between € 3.693,- and € 5.737,- for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 11). Additionally, a contract for 0.8 FTE can be discussed.
