Resettlement Senior Caseworker

Job overview: Senior caseworker will support the caseworkers and the casework supervisor by providing assistance with tasks related to client services in accordance with the Cooperative Agreement with the U.S Department of State. This will include both administrative tasks and field work. Senior caseworker will also have an active caseload of 10-15 cases where case management is required.

Major Responsibilities:

Case Management

  • Welcome assigned clients at airport
  • Provide direct core services as per donor guidelines in the Cooperative Agreement
  • This includes gathering documents, submitting public benefits applications, conducting home visits, completing self-sufficieny plans, family budgets, coordinating medical appointments, enrolling kids in school and adults in ESL classes, applying for Social Security cards, referring clients to other programs as needed, being the main point of contact for all your assigned cases and more.
  • Coordinate specialized service provision with other resettlement staff, IRC programs, and external partners such as housing specialists, cultural orientation providers, employment specialists, HealthPoint, Hopelink, among others.
  • Maintain case files and case documentation in accordance with the Cooperative Agreement.
  • Provide trauma-informed services to all clients.
  • Record and maintain all client expenditures to ensure compliance with donor funding.
  • Attend team and office meetings, participate in collective team and office efforts, attend all mandatory trainings, and comply with all IRC and local office policies and practices.
  • Use IRC software to record expenditures, case note, submit reports, and more.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Team and Program Support

  • Train interns, volunteers, and caseworkers.
  • Fill in for airport pick-ups and 24-hour home visits when needed.
  • Assist with the coordination of Public Transportation and Cultural Orientations.
  • Conduct timely case file reviews.
  • Submit 90 Day Reports.
  • Complete US Tie Consultations.
  • Provide R&P core services to complex cases.
  • Support other caseworkers with tasks as needed.
  • Handle client mail

Internal: Housing Specialists, After Hours Specialists, Employment, Operations, Finance, Economic Empowerment, Health and Wellness, Intensive Case Management amongst others

External: Public Health, HopeLink, HealthPoint, and DSHS

Job Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree with an emphasis in Social Work or an equivalent field of study; equivalent experience may be substituted.
  • Lived experience as a refugee or immigrant is highly preferred.
  • Two to three years of relevant work experience. A significant portion of this experience should include responsibilities in social services, humanitarian relief, public service, or other not-for-profit environments.
  • A proven record of increasingly responsible roles in a mission and outcome driven environment.
  • Highly organized self-starter with proven success handling multiple priorities, making critical decisions, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated success achieving goals and communicating effectively a multi-cultural environment.
  • Strong communications skills, both oral and written, are required for this role.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written; other language ability in one of the predominant languages of the local client base preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle with current insurance, and the ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area.

  • Standard, professional office environment; hybrid remote, office, and field work
  • May require occasional weekend and /or evening work

Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
