About the opportunity:
We have an opportunity for dedicated and enthusiastic individuals who have a passion for delivering high quality care that supports the lifestyle choices of our residents to work as Permanent Part Time Driver/Carer to achieve the goals and mission of the organisation.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Provide driving services to and be responsible for the welfare and safety of residents and clients travelling between their places of residence and other Uniting locations and on outings
- Assist residents and clients to move about and provide assistance with wheelchairs as necessary
- Where necessary assist in general personal hygiene, including washing of faces and hands.
- Assist with all aspects of toileting such as directing/assisting to facilities, providing physical support and adjusting of clothing and all assistance necessary to complete the toileting process
Qualifications
- Current MR/LR licence
- Relevant Aged Care Qualifications
Skills & experience
- Proven experience and reliability in bus driving
- A strong commitment to working with the frail aged and people with challenging behaviours, and disabilities including dementia, developmental disabilities and psychiatric illnesses
- Ability to provide service equitable to all consumers regardless of race, religion, gender, social or financial background
- Ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision
