About the role:

This is a casual position working across a 24/7 hour rotating roster including morning, afternoon and sleep over shifts. You will be working across our Youth Residential Sites in South West Sydney.

About the opportunity:

You will be working as part of a dynamic team that supports day to day support and case management for young people up to 24 years old who are homeless and residing in one of our accommodation programs or who are at risk of homelessness.

  • Provide information, crisis support, advocacy and referral services for young people and their families.
  • Provide a safe, ‘homelike’, healthy physical environment and ensure that they physical and practical needs are of the young people are met.
  • Nurture and build rapport with the young person to ensure their social and emotional needs are met and implement therapeutic and behavioural programs as identified.
  • Provide a safe, non-judgmental space for young people of all cultural backgrounds and sexual orientations.
  • Develop and implement case plans that are strengths based, trauma informed, and client centred.
  • Your shifts will be part of a 24/7 roster, including sleepover shifts across two houses.
  • You will be working closely with young people to support the development of their independent living skills, training, and employment, as well as social skills and community engagement activities. In addition, you will participate in supporting the household routines and day-to-day tasks as required, along with administrative tasks. 

About You:

  • Diploma Qualifications in Community Services or related field.
  • Two years’ experience working with vulnerable, at risk young people.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the child protection legislation and experience working within the legislation
  • Demonstrated understanding of the issues impacting homeless young people and their families
  • Demonstrated experience working with young people with challenging behaviours.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the experiences of First Nations people.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the experiences of people within the LGBTQIA+ community.
  • Ability to work on 24/7 rotating roster.
  • Current NSW Drivers licence
  • Current NSW WWCC
  • Lived experience is welcomed within our roles.
