1.Background

Al-Tadhamun Iraqi League for Youth seeks to strengthen its institutional capacity in resource mobilization and sustainable fundraising. To support this effort, the organization intends to contract a qualified Fundraising Expert Trainer to deliver a three-day advanced training workshop for staff.

The training will focus on developing staff competencies in fundraising strategy development, donor relations and engagement, diversification of funding sources, and risk management in fundraising operations. The training is expected to provide practical tools that staff can apply in designing and implementing effective fundraising initiatives.

2. Objectives of the Training

 

The objectives of the training are to:

• Strengthen staff capacity in developing strategic fundraising plans.
• Enhance understanding of donor relations and effective donor engagement.
• Improve knowledge of diversifying funding sources and identifying new funding opportunities.
• Build staff capacity to identify and manage risks related to fundraising activities.
• Equip participants with practical tools and strategies to ensure sustainable resource mobilization.

 3. Scope of Work

The consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:

3.1 Training Design and Preparation

 

The consultant will:

 

Develop a customized training curriculum and agenda for a three-day workshop.

Prepare training materials including:

• Presentations
• Practical exercises
• Case studies
• Fundraising planning templates and tools.
• Coordinate with the organization to understand current fundraising practices and capacity needs.

 

3.2 Training Delivery (Three Days)

The consultant will deliver an interactive training workshop covering the following key topics:

 

Day 1 – Fundraising Strategy Development

Introduction to strategic fundraising.

• Components of an effective fundraising strategy.
• Donor landscape and donor mapping techniques.
• Identifying funding opportunities and aligning them with organizational priorities.
• Developing a fundraising strategy framework.

 

Day 2 – Donor Relations and Engagement

 

• Building and maintaining strong donor relationships.
• Donor communication and reporting practices.
• Donor stewardship and partnership management.
• Developing long-term partnerships with donors.
• Practical exercises on donor engagement strategies.

 

Day 3 – Risk Management in Fundraising

 

• Identifying financial, operational, and reputational risks in fundraising.
• Compliance and ethical considerations in fundraising.
• Managing donor expectations and accountability.
• Developing risk mitigation strategies in fundraising operations.
• Integrating risk management into fundraising strategies.

 

3.3 Evaluation and Reporting

 

The consultant will:

• Conduct pre-training and post-training assessments.
• Facilitate interactive group discussions and practical exercises.
• Prepare and submit a final training report including training outcomes, participant feedback, and recommendations for strengthening the organization’s fundraising capacity.

 

 4. Expected Deliverables

 

The consultant will provide:

• Training agenda and curriculum.
• Training materials and presentations.
• Fundraising strategy tools and templates.
• Pre- and post-training assessment tools.
• Final training report with recommendations.

 

 

Ownership and Confidentiality: Al-Tadhamun Iraqi League for Youth is committed to disbursing payments upon delivery of the final approved version of the plan. All documents shall remain the property of the Al-Tadhamun Iraqi League for Youth, and the expert is committed to maintaining strict confidentiality regarding all institutional information.

 

 

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, International Development, Public Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

 

Experience

• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in fundraising and resource mobilization.
• Proven experience in developing fundraising strategies and securing donor funding.
• Experience working with NGOs, civil society organizations, or international development organizations.
• Previous experience delivering professional training or capacity-building workshops.

 

Technical Skills

• Expertise in fundraising strategy development.
• Strong knowledge of donor relations and partnership management.
• Understanding of risk management in fundraising and donor compliance.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and analytical skills.
