Field life is rugged and rewarding. Crew members will be living in remote locations – often with limited amenities. Crews will meet at our company bunkhouse in Asotin, WA to start and end most hitches, and accommodations are available at the bunkhouse when working locally, or will primarily be camping when working outside of southeastern Washington. Accommodations are typically dorm-style living with communal meal prep, shared kitchens, and shared sleeping quarters. Teams will travel often – frequently moving to a new project site for each hitch (work week).
Work schedules are typically eight 10-hour shifts followed by 6 days off. Sometimes hitch schedules may be adjusted to four 10-hour shifts followed by 3 days off. All necessary camping gear (other than sleeping bags) as well as all necessary safety gear, waders, and wading boots will be provided. Crew members will receive a modest stipend for use towards the purchase of hiking boots, work pants, or other necessary attire. Additionally, per diem is afforded to the group for family-style grocery shopping and meal preparation.
