DJM Ecological Services specializes in the installation, maintenance, and restoration of native plant communities. We have restored ecosystems throughout the Midwest including prairies, wetlands, glades, savannas, and woodlands. Additionally, we are recognized for our expertise specific to the development of green infrastructure utilized to control and treat storm water.
Restoration Technicians will participate in a variety of projects including prairie installation, land stewardship, green roof installation and maintenance, sustainable landscape installation, stream bank stabilization, detention basin installation and maintenance, erosion/sediment control, watershed management directives, invasive species control, and reforestation. The variability offers great experience specific to restoration techniques, plant identification, and natural areas management concepts. Technicians will be expected to work alongside a crew to deliver projects in all elements and seasons.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
WAGES AND COMPENSATION:
Typical 1st year salary of $37,000-$58,000 (not factoring overtime). Full time employment awarded following a 90-day probationary period. After 90 days, employees receive company paid benefits including fully paid health insurance with options for dental/vision covered by employee, 401K with company match @ 4%, $25,000 of life insurance, paid vacation (5 days), paid holidays (6 days), and maternity/paternity leave. We offer flexible, task specific, scheduling to ensure the right candidates maintain a high quality of life. DJM pays all travel expenses including lodging and food, provides transportation for work requiring travel, and all equipment/supplies required to perform duties as assigned. Typical hours are 50+/- per week during the summer and fall (May-Oct) with time and a half overtime pay after 40 hours and 40+/- hours during late winter and early spring.
