The Role:

 

As restricted funds oversight senior accountant, you will work closely with country and Oxford based teams to support and drive significant improvements in regard to compliance with donor requirements and management of the full cycle of the audit process. This will involve being the key contact and advisor for high risk or large-scale audits. You will also conduct test audits and will deliver training in country offices.

 

You will assist in the contribution to the improvement of the process and procedures of restricted funds financial management, analyse, and provide solutions to mitigate restricted funds financial risks and provide technical support and advise to restricted funds stakeholders.

An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:

 

  • Professional accountancy qualification – e.g. CIMA, ACCA or qualified by experience
  • Proven accountancy experience and knowledge of financial accounting, reporting and analysis (at country or regional level at a senior level position)
  • Knowledge of key institutional donor requirements (e.g. EU/ECHO/SIDA/BHA/UN agencies) and experience of leading or coordinating institutional donor
  • Strong planning, organisation, and reporting skills to effectively meet
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills and fluent written and spoken
  • Diplomacy, ability to influence others and to work effectively within a
  • Ability to influence outcomes, facilitate processes and work with others on tasks or projects, without direct line management authority.
  • Uses initiative and good at problem
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft programmes (Advance level in Excel)
  • Ability to travel to country offices and remote field offices at a short notice – likely to be at least 10% of the
  • Ability to work remotely within a multi-cultural, multi-lingual, and multi-disciplinary environment that values diversity and inclusion.
