ROLE PURPOSE:The purpose of this role is to lead the Student Retention team supporting our faculties. Your key task will be to develop, manage and maintain a comprehensive and effective programme for re-engaging students in their studies. This role is strategic in nature, and you will be asked to develop policies and procedures to ensure student engagement and retention. This task will involve working with other stakeholders at GBS, primarily the academic departments, but also external stakeholders and internal support services. As the Retention Manager, you will develop and deliver an integrated and comprehensive Student Retention strategy towards compliance and ensuring that this in correlation to the KPI of GBS. In addition, the Retention manager will demonstrate effective line management of the Senior Retention Officers and support them in leading their teams and delivering effectively.This role is not eligible for sponsorship!ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES:To ensure that every retention officer is aware of the roles and responsibilities as a Retention officer.Overlooking a partnership and being the key contact with the faculty on behalf of retention team with the key internal stake holders, developing innovative and thoughtful strategies aimed at improving performance in partnership with the facultiesTo be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring policy and procedures relevant to delivery of KPIsEnsure strong operational processes and oversight are in placeTo work with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure students remain engaged with their studies.To track and monitor new student referrals into the system and make sure each case is dealt with in a timely manner.To work with the Planning, Information and Delivery team to prepare data for the Senior Management team and Academic Deans on students referred to the Student Retention TeamTo work with the Planning, Information and Delivery team to prepare data for partnerships in relation to student retention and progression.To take responsibility for the effective management, development, and performance review of staff within the section.Provide an annual review of student retention services, highlighting the impact on student progression and completion of courses.Lead on the delivery of a positive, student first culture with high levels of ownership of student problemsESSENTIAL SKILLS and EXPIRIENCE:At least 2 years relevant experienceYou will have strong communication skills and an ability to adapt messages for a diverse audience in an inclusive and accessible way.You’ll be able to plan and prioritise effectively to achieve objectives, work collaboratively in a team and build and maintain positive relationships with students.High level of computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel, with knowledge of PBI a plus.Attention to detail is a must as well as strong organizational skills.Experience of building and leading high performing teamsBeing a “doer” – able to work independently within the wider goals of the organisationOTHER INFORMATION:The Retention manager will also be expected to demonstrate their commitment:to GBS values and regulations, including equal opportunities policy.the GBS’s Social, Economic and Environmental responsibilities and minimise environmental impact in the performance of the role and actively contribute to the delivery of GBS’s Environmental Policy.to their Health and Safety responsibilities to ensure their contribution to a safe and secure working environment for staff, students, and other visitors to the campus.#Indeedseptember
