UNDP is looking for a company to RFP/2024/014 – Behavior Insight support to STEM4ALL initiative. The UNDP Mongolia Acceleration-Lab(A-lab) is carrying out an assignmnet “Behavior Insight support to STEM4ALL initiative”.
Background: The World Economic Forum projects that 90% of future jobs will require digital skills rooted in STEM disciplines. Despite this growing demand, fields like data analysis and AI expertise remain largely male-dominated. Globally, only about one-third of students pursuing STEM-related fields are girls, a trend mirrored in Mongolia where one third of IT and engineering students are female. Compounding this issue, an estimated 180 million jobs slated for automation in the next two decades are currently held by women.
‘Skills for the Digital Transition: Assessing Recent Trends Using Big Data’, the report from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in partnership with Randstad highlights that STEM skills will become even more important as digitalization accelerates in the global economy. Engineers, mathematicians, and data scientists will be the backbone of a tech-driven society.Given these developments, it is imperative to raise awareness and broaden opportunities for the next generation, especially girls in remote and marginalized communities. By equipping them with digital technology skills combined with high-level cognitive skills, we not only prepare them for the evolving landscape of work but also mitigate the risk of poverty and contribute to sustainable development.
The A-lab is therefore seeking the services of a local institution to: Lead the behavior insight pilot with the target women’s group, Develop baseline, progress, and final questionnaires for assessing behavior change among the target groups and Lead a minimum of four training sessions with the target groups.
The duration of assignment is 20 days over three(3) months
