description of the assignment: UNDP is looking for a national legal entity for the assignment: RFP/2025/033 Scaling up rangeland monitoring, reporting and verification system.
The “Improving Adaptive Capacity and Risk Management of Rural Communities in Mongolia’’ (ADAPT) project funded by the Green Climate Fund was launched in March 2021. The project is being implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, and the
United Nations Development Programme for 7 years in
Khovd, Zavkhan, Dornod, and Sukhbaatar aimags. The objective of the assignment is to develop a web-based MRV platform that scales up monitoring and reporting of rangeland conditions and carbon sequestration/emissions. The platform will integrate remote sensing, AI/ML technologies, and participatory data collection, and will be adaptable for nationwide use. It aims to reduce the human and financial constraints of traditional monitoring systems in Mongolia by automating data processing and analysis.
Duration: 12 months
