Introduction

Request for Proposal (RFP): Organization to support the Environmental Empowerment Trainings of Youth in Asia-Pacific for Environmental Justice

AGENCY/PROJECT NAME: UNDP BRH/ Youth Empowerment for Climate Action Platform (YECAP)

COUNTRY OF ASSIGNMENT: Homebased with travel required to Nepal and Pakistan,

DURATION: August 2025 to August 2026
The Asia-Pacific region, home to over 800 million youth, faces disproportionate impacts from the climate crisis, exacerbating existing inequalities and threatening human rights. Recognizing youth as key agents of change, the UNDP’s Youth Empowerment for Climate Action Platform (YECAP) aims to empower young people, especially women and Indigenous youth through environmental justice and legal empowerment. The initiative seeks to expand civic space, enhance awareness of environmental rights, and promote youth participation in climate governance. With the right to a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment now recognized as a universal human right, the project emphasizes intergenerational equity and the need for youth-led solutions to the triple planetary crisis of climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution. The program will deliver trainings, social media campaigns, and policy engagement across Nepal, Pakistan, Indonesia, and Bangladesh to amplify youth voices and influence national climate ambitions. UNDP thus call for the Request for Proposal (RFP) to support the Environmental Empowerment Trainings of Youth in Asia-Pacific for Environmental Justice.
