RFP – For Hiring an Event Management Agency for GLM 2024

About Us:

Hasiru Dala is a social impact organization; we focus on securing social justice for waste pickers through interventions co-created with waste pickers, in the areas of identity rights, access to employment, skill development, and access to family education, healthcare, housing & other social security/entitlements. We work on sustainable waste management initiatives, including working with the local government and citizens to achieve waste models and uphold SHG and workers’ rights.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Lead to join our team. As the Project Lead, the person will play a key role in driving the successful planning, and execution of a Zero Waste model in ten Gram Panchayats in South Canara District, based out of our Mangalore Office.The project head will lead a cross-functional team, ensuring that the project goals and objectives are met within the specified time frame and budget.

Title of the position:  Project Lead, Zero Waste Gram Panchayat, South Canara district.

Responsibilities:

• Develop a creative implementationstrategy to achieve a Zero Waste Village
• Engage and collaborate with stakeholders to actively participate in the project

1. (Stakeholders include SHG members, elected representatives, officials, and citizens, especially youth and women)

• Lead and motivate a cross-functional project team, fostering a collaborative, cooperative work culture
• Train the team members for efficient project implementation, data analysis and report writing and audio-visual report production
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members to enhance their skills and development and oversee the work of project team members
• Manage timelines, bringing in resource efficiency, and budgets to meet the objective of Zero Waste Gram Panchayat initiatives.
• Provide technical inputs and guidance as and when required by the project team
• Monitor project deliverables to ensure they meet quality standards and comply with project requirements.

Required Experience/Qualification:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, development studies
• management, etc.)
• Proven experience as a Project Lead or similar role in a non-profit organization
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate cross-functional teams
• Exceptional ability in problem-solving
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Proficiency in speaking and reading Kannada
• Proficiency in any other South Indian language and Hindi will be an added advantage
• Professional in writing reports in English

Duration of the contract period: Till December 2026.

Remuneration: INR 50,000/- per month
