The objective of this initiative is to strengthen the capacities of local Civil Society Organizations to identify, recognize, support and strengthen actions for enhancing local livelihoods, biodiversity conservation and socio-ecological resilience to facilitate a sustainable and inclusive recovery pathway and ensure long-term positive outcomes for vulnerable communities in North East India.
The House of Himalayas is a concept preached by the Rural Development Department of Uttarakhand aiming to revive the livelihood of marginalized communities. A pilot initiative in Uttarakhand will provide a lot of learnings to the North Eastern States in the Himalayan region on the revival of livelihoods. The similarities in the Himalayan State of Uttarakhand and Meghalaya will help both the states to have a strategy for reviving the livelihood sector.
