The Opportunity:

The Risk Manager will lead a team to ensure VUs Risk and Compliance functions are contemporary and efficient. The role is part of the Risk and Compliance team and reports to the Director Risk and Compliance.

This role will lead the implementation of the University’s Risk Management function which includes responsibility for effectively embedding and building a value-add risk management culture, building enterprise risk management strategies and plans, and implementing the University’s Risk Management Framework across all areas of the University.

The role will also lead in the awareness of and ensuring that VU is proactively managing risk and meeting all its internal and external legislative and compliance obligations.

The role will also be required to lead the provision of comprehensive risk management reporting and contingency plans to ensure VU’s most critical risks are mitigated and resolved by the appropriate University stakeholders.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will be a leader with a deep understanding of risk management and compliance framework, and an awareness of the importance of risk management and compliance activities and effectively embedding and building a value add risk management culture across the enterprise. You will be able to think strategically and operationally, strong communication skills, be a natural collaborator and a skilled problem solver.
