Summary of Job Duties:
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide direct patient care as an RN. This professional nursing role will require the ability to coordinate care for patients, triage patients, and work collaboratively with clinic providers, fellows, and staff. Requires the ability to effectively work with patient referral sources, facilitate appointments, coordinate transitions of care, and provide patient education on complex
conditions. The RN will work with the individual patient, their families, and providers of care to develop and implement individual health plans.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Associate’s degree in Nursing, Diploma RN, or Master’s degree in Nursing.
• Must be a graduate of an accredited RN nursing program.
• Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nursing experience; OR Must be accepted into the UAMS New Graduate RN Residency Program.
• Valid Registered Nursing License
• Basic computer skills. · Excellent communication skills. · Strong work ethics and accountability.

Requirements: Employees in this role must be fitted for, capable of donning and performing routine tasks in personal protective equipment to include N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR).

Provides effective patient/family education/discharge planning.

Leadership. Acts as a resource/support to others in the performance of duties. Demonstrates a commitment to the personal and professional development of other UAMS employees. Participates in recruitment/retention of staff. Facilitates development and implementation of nursing practice standards that are evidence-based and in compliance with ANA standards. Delegates care based on UAMS standards, legal and regulatory requirements, specific job descriptions, scope of practice and individual level of education and training.

Nursing Process. Delivers nursing care according to standards as defined by UAMS, American Nurses Association (ANA), AR State Board of Nursing (ASBN) and those set forth by nursing specialty organizations. Collects and documents assessment data from patients and/or others per UAMS standard. Develops patient’s Plan of Care (POC) per department/unit standards utilizing assessment data. Evaluates the progress of patients toward attainment of desired outcomes. Administers medication following department/unit standards and Nurse Practice Act. Verifies and evaluates care delivered to ensure it is consistent with patient and family centered care principles, practice standards and regulatory requirements.
