UC San Diego Health’s Perioperative Services is growing and we invite you to join our team! In addition to working for San Diego’s only academic medical center, this position is eligible for our outstanding benefits package day one of employment. These RN positions are 10-hour shifts. The Koman Family Outpatient Pavilion is an outpatient clinical facility on UC San Diego Health’s La Jolla campus. The facility includes eight surgery suites, basic and advanced imaging, physical therapy and pain management – plus infusion and apheresis services. The four-floor, 156,000-square-foot facility opened in March 2018.

Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• RN License issued by the State of California.
• BART or BLS certification at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
• Must have at least one year of recent acute care PACU experience with various service lines, ICU, or ER experience.
• PALS (must be obtained during first year of employment for new employees).
• Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• ACLS and/or ART certification

• Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and various locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center’s business needs.
• Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $123,902 – $173,659 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $59.34 – $83.17

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
