My client are a global leader in freight forwarding services. With a strong presence in the Midlands, North and London.The RoleThis role is based at a large, modern site, including a spacious warehouse. The facility is a busy hub of operations, requiring strong leadership and efficient management.We are seeking an experienced Road Freight Operations Manager to oversee and manage our road freight import operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of import shipments, managing supplier relationships, and leading a team to deliver high-quality logistics services.Key Responsibilities

• Oversee operations within a large, modern warehouse facility, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
• Oversee the end-to-end import process for road freight shipments, ensuring compliance with UK and international regulations.
• Manage relationships with overseas agents, suppliers, and customers to optimise service delivery.
• Lead and develop a team of import specialists, providing training and support to enhance performance.
• Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Work closely with the sales and operations teams to develop strategic logistics solutions for clients.
• Manage cost control and budgeting for road freight import operations.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience in road freight imports within a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of UK and international road freight regulations.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office suite.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
