Role Overview:

The Roving Maintenance Officer plays a vital role in supporting maintenance at UnitingSA’s Aged Care facilities, ensuring high standards of service. This role is a roving one that will see the position work from various Aged Care sites covering maintenance staff leave. Reporting to the Aged Care Maintenance Supervisor, this role encompasses supervising property maintenance, promptly addressing safety issues, and offering leadership to the maintenance team to attain excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the scheduling of allocated duties and procure materials for cost-effective maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance service requests for both daily and long-term upkeep.
  • Oversee and supervise the preventive maintenance programme, coordinating with the Maintenance Supervisor to schedule necessary services to meet required standards and deadlines.
  • Identify and report maintenance trends to the Maintenance Supervisor, offering assistance in their resolution.
  • Uphold UnitingSA properties to high standards, with a paramount focus on safety, adherence to Australian building codes and safety standards, and budgetary constraints.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all assigned maintenance policies, procedures, and schematics.
  • Maintain proper electronic recordkeeping of maintenance orders and related documentation.
  • Communicate pertinent information with staff and actively participate in staff meetings.

Qualifications

  • Relevant Trade/Building qualifications or equivalent building trade experience (5 + years)
  • Current DHS NDIS Worker Screening Check (essential)
  • Current SA Driver’s Licence
  • Current National Police Clearance (essential)
  • Current Covid-19 Vaccinations (2 doses + 1 booster)

Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive building experience
  • Experience in maintenance and project management
  • Able to read and work to basic plans
  • Able to understand and act upon given instructions and tasks
  • Able to record relevant details accurately
