The Resource Assistance for Rural Environments (RARE) AmeriCorps Program offers a unique opportunity to connect the personal and professional development aspirations of the next generation with the community needs of rural Oregon. RARE members serve for 11 months (from September 4, 2024 to July 31, 2025) in rural Oregon communities where they get to take on meaningful and impactful projects, chosen by the communities themselves.
In this position with the Oregon Department of Energy, you’ll boost energy resilience and sustainability in rural communities. You will develop equitable outreach strategies to help rural consumer owned utilities access grid resilience funds. You will build relationships in communities to bring solar power to low-income neighborhoods. You’ll also analyze energy grant programs to inform future decisions across the state.
