In the GRC General Secretariat in Berlin, you will help shape the future direction of the GRC as a national Red Cross Society and umbrella organisation of non-statutory welfare organisations. Every day you contribute to ensuring that people in Germany and around the world receive help – solely according to the degree of need.
At the next possible date, we are looking for you as a Safeguarding and Anti-Corruption Manager. The position is located in the GRC headquarters in Berlin in the International Cooperation Division.
In our efforts to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of our humanitarian aid and development cooperation projects, as well as in the long-term capacity strengthening programs of our sister National Societies (NS) worldwide, a critical component is the enforcement of rigorous safeguarding and anticorruption measures. As a Safeguarding and Anti-Corruption Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring that our international cooperation work globally is not only systematically monitored and assessed in terms of adherence to our ethical standards and the achievement of safeguarding goals but also continuously improved based on lessons learned and best practices in the field of corruption prevention and risk management. Central to this role is the participation of and accountability towards those affected by our actions. In this capacity, we are looking for someone with your vision, your ability to think and work in complex contexts, and your experience in safeguarding and anticorruption practices to help secure the long-term goals and ethical standing of our organization.
The employment is part-time/fulltime (up to 39h/week). The employment offer is initially limited to 2 years.
Your tasks:
• Develop and conduct briefings, workshops, and training sessions on Safeguarding, Corruption Prevention, and other misconduct.
• Create awareness materials tailored to these focus areas.
• Receive, document, and manage complaints concerning misconduct, corruption, or other risk-related matters.
• Investigate or assist in investigating international cases.
• Supply specialized technical advice to GRC international operations and other movement partners on corruption prevention and risk management.
• Perform risk assessments focusing on corruption prevention for GRC international operations to ensure sector compliance.
Your profile:
• Relevant university degree or professional training.
• Training on the topic of Safeguarding (PSEAH) or/and workplace investigations.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Excellent written and spoken English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus; proficiency in German is NOT required. • Willingness to travel internationally (up to two weeks), on short notice and to challenging environments.
• Previous experience in a humanitarian, development, or international settings is strongly preferred.
