Service users are treated with care and respect, and our colleagues thrive in a supportive culture.As Safeguarding Lead your primary goal is to design and implement Safeguarding protocols and procedures at all levels.As our Safeguarding Lead you’ll play a crucial role in leading and managing our Service. You’ll be at the forefront of promoting best practices, implementing policies, and ensuring accountability across the Service. Your work will involve supporting our staff, advising our committees, and collaborating with external partners to uphold the highest standards of safeguarding.Your main responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and review safeguarding policies and procedures in line with statutory guidance and best practices.
  • Provide advice and support to staff members on safeguarding matters and oversee the investigation and management of safeguarding concerns or incidents.
  • Maintain accurate records of safeguarding concerns and actions taken, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Monitor and review: all safeguarding concerns, providing timely advice and guidance to staff and escalating concerns as appropriate.
  • Lead the organisation’s incident management system, ensuring all incidents are reported, investigated, and escalated when required.
  • Monitor compliance with policies and procedures, conducting regular audits and reviews to identify areas for improvement.
  • Draft regular reports to the relevant stakeholders with meaningful insights and recommendations.

What you’ll need to do the role:

  • You will be working as a Safeguarding Lead or similar, preferably within a similar organisation or sector.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policies, and procedures, as well as data protection regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with individuals at all levels.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulation and accreditation is desirable.
