The opportunity

Key responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance and support in the implementation of safeguarding systems and practices across various programs and work areas, including identifying opportunities for improvements and developing and implementing work plans
- Ensure that safeguarding measures are effectively integrated into program design, planning, and execution phases
- Lead the development and implementation of organisational policies and procedures related to safeguarding
- Partner with a wide range of internal stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance with safeguard requirements
- Raise awareness of safeguarding issues and promote best practices through communication and outreach activities across all staff and programs
Selection criteria
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field with 5+ years demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Comprehensive knowledge of donor-funded projects and their specific safeguard requirements, particularly DFAT
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences
- Significant experience in conducting and resolving complex child protection and sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment incidents, including, investigations into potential grievances or misconduct
- Ability to lead reviews and ensure compliance with safeguard standards
- Strong commitment to gender equality, disability inclusion, and social inclusion
