EC has a young learners division which includes the award winning summer school brand, Embassy Summer with multiple pop up summer schools in the UK, Malta, the US and Canada. Embassy Summer welcomes students from around the world, helping them to improve their language skills, meet new friends and take part in a wide range of activities and cultural excursions that will help them develop important life skills.

Position Summary:

The purpose of Embassy Summer’s policy is to ensure that all recruitment and selection activity is conducted effectively, efficiently, and consistently to achieve positive recruitment outcomes for the business in the UK. The policy confirms a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

The Recruitment team is directly responsible for ensuring that our centres teams are staffed with the appropriate number of effective, qualified, compliant, motivated and trained people that will ensure an industry leading experience for every single one of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To support the Company’s Welfare and Safeguarding policy
  • To administrate Embassy Summer Safer Recruitment pre-employment vetting, ensuring that full suitability checks are processed, and clearance is obtained for ALL summer staff prior to commencement of employment.
  • To collate appropriate identification documents and manage All DBS & Globetex applications as part of the recruitment process.
  • To ensure appropriate Letters of Good Conduct are received prior to commencement of employment.
  • To obtain references as required to support the pre-employment vetting process, as well as the Risk Assessment and Decision Record forms as required.
  • For appropriate candidates, to prepare and present Risk Assessments in a timely manner to the Risk Assessment Panel.
  • To update staff on the status of their background checks and encourage ALL staff members to apply to the DBS update service as appropriate.
  • To maintain the SCR register
  • To assist the Recruitment Manager with the selection and recruitment process as required
  • To assist the Recruitment Manager with payroll and ensure staff pay / tax queries are dealt with in a timely manner
  • To conduct job interviews on an ad hoc basis

Qualifications Required:

  • Highly proficient level of spoken and written English
  • Educated to A Level standard or equivalent (Level 3 of Qualifications & Credit Framework)

Experience Required:

  • Good understanding of welfare and safeguarding
  • Clear understanding of pre-employment screening procedures
  • Project management experience
  • Understanding of payroll procedures
  • Summer school experience

Knowledge & Skills Desired:

  • Database management experience
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, Outlook and PowerBI
