Overview

Position Overview: Surge Sanctuary is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Fundraiser to join our team. This role is crucial in supporting our mission to provide forever care for our animal residents.

The Volunteer Fundraiser will be responsible for executing fundraising initiatives, including sending out mailshots, assisting with promotions, and participating in events aimed at raising funds for Surge Sanctuary.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Mailshot Campaigns:
   • Develop and execute targeted mailshot campaigns to engage donors and raise funds.
   • Coordinate with the marketing team to create compelling content and materials for mailshots.
   • Maintain accurate records of donor communications and responses.
2. Promotions:
   • Assist in promoting fundraising initiatives through various channels, including social media, email newsletters, and community outreach.
   • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials such as flyers, posters, and online advertisements.
   • Engage with potential donors to communicate the impact of their contributions to Surge Sanctuary.
3. Event Support:
   • Participate in the planning and execution of fundraising events, such as vegan markets, auctions, and fundraising dinners.
   • Help set up event venues, manage registration, and provide support during the event.
   • Act as an ambassador for Surge Sanctuary, conveying our mission and values to event attendees.
4. Donor Relations:
   • Cultivate relationships with donors, volunteers, and community partners to foster ongoing support for Surge Sanctuary.
   • Acknowledge and appreciate donor contributions promptly and effectively.
   • Respond to donor inquiries and provide updates on fundraising initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

• Passion for animal welfare and commitment to Surge Sanctuary’s mission.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently when necessary.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Experience in fundraising, marketing, or event planning is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges.
• Availability to dedicate a minimum of 5 hours a week  to volunteer work.
