Job Description

UNICEF, through its human resources, technically supports the Emergency Operations Center – Polio, in the planning, implementation and monitoring-evaluation of vaccine response campaigns against cVDPV1 at both the central and regional levels. , district as the Basic Health Center in Madagascar with particular emphasis on SBC interventions and logistical management of campaign inputs. Support is also provided for preparation and response to possible cVDPV2 outbreaks and the introduction of nOPV2

This position will take place between the Communication Sub-Commission (DPS/DPEV), GPEI and UNICEF and will serve as a transmission belt.

  • Support the generation of evidence and ensure systematic analysis of social data to strengthen SBC planning during the response:
  • Support the development of communication strategies and plans at national and regional levels
  • Support the development/revision of communication tools and materials to promote polio vaccination and strengthening routine immunization.
  • Support regions in budgeting and monitoring communication activities for campaigns and their payments by UNICEF
Qualifications and experience required…
  • University degree in communications, public health, sociology, anthropology, development studies or any other related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in SBC rapid assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
  • Have at least two years of professional experience in planning and implementing communication activities for social and behavioral change;
  • Proven skills in the Design Center approach to people, advocacy and community engagement and digital communication are necessary;
  • Familiarity in the field of vaccination and health emergencies;
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Familiarity with UNICEF values ​​and emergency standards
  • Fluency in French and Malagasy. Knowledge of English will be an added advantage
