Do you want to spend next summer in the heart of the Selway-Bitterroot and Frank Church–River of No Return Wilderness? SBFC is looking for dedicated, hard-working trail crew members and an operations coordinator to join us on the frontlines of Wilderness stewardship!

We’re hiring for both crew and operations positions:
Trail Crew Positions: Wilderness & Trails Crew Leaders, Wilderness & Trails Assistant Crew Leaders, & Wilderness & Trails Technicians
For these positions, the season will be filled with 8-day backcountry hitches, non-mechanized trail work, professional development, and some of the most rewarding days you’ll ever spend outside. All positions include extensive training and a summer spent maintaining trails deep in the wildest place with traditional tools.

Wilderness Operations Coordinator Position:
This position ensures the smooth operation of SBFC’s wilderness projects by maintaining vehicles, tools, and gear; assisting with training and planning; and supporting project implementation. The role flexibly assists across multiple programs — 60% Wilderness, 20% Volunteer, and 20% Youth — helping projects run efficiently and ensuring staff, fellows, and volunteers are well supported.

This is primarily a support position, providing assistance before, during, and after projects, with opportunities for field leadership depending on program needs.
