The main activities undertaken by WFP in Guinea are:
1.Emergency response,
2.School feeding
3.Nutrition
4.Resilience & Market Access
5.Institutional capacity building.
The selected candidate will assist in the management of school canteens in the four WFP sub-offices.
Supervision:
The incumbent will work under the overall supervision of the Head of Programme and the direct supervision of the Programme Policy Officer, School Feeding.
Training Components and Learning Elements:
Interns will have access to WFP’s WeLearn platform, offering a wide range of learning opportunities. Depending on availability, participation in one full day orientation session, WFP workshops, seminars, and field missions may be offered. By the end of the assignment, the intern is expected to enhance their performance management skills, data analysis capabilities, understanding of WFP field operations, infographic drafting skills, and interpersonal skills required for working in a dynamic and multicultural environment.
This relates to the following:
Monitor training on school canteens and related indicators.
Attend the training on school canteen management committees.
Attend training and research on malnutrition and its typology.
Attend the training and research on Cash-Based Transfer (CBT).
Learn the calculations on rations per beneficiary and school.
Perform any other training as requested by the Supervisor.
Obtain the certificates on the WFP Mandatory courses.
Take the Integrated Road Map (IRM) training.
Follow the training on Gender with the Gender focal point (Gender-Marker and GaM).
Attend the M&E training with the M&E section.
Strong analytical skills, Independent and teamwork capabilities, excellent problem-solving skills, positive attitude, and a keen interest in international humanitarian development. Proficiency in MS Office.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, quick learning and adaptation to UN/WFP processes, analytical and interpretative skills, and the ability to propose solutions.
